This class is the first and only course package that offers 14 certifications. Never before in the history of our school have we been able to offer such a varied and comprehensive class.
Students are able to complete the bulk of the course through their online modules. The modules are very much like being in the classroom and if the student needs to reach out to their instructor they can do so 9-5 M-F and on weekends by appointment. The main goal of the program is to make sure that students are not feeling overwhelmed and have the instructor support to make their dreams of becoming a healthcare professional come true.
Over the past 13 years that PCT has been training healthcare professionals, a course of this kind was previously unheard of. Students taking this class can be assured that they will never be out of work, ever! Students will have up to one year to complete all the certifications. Students will receive books and training supplies to help them practice skills and to use if they desire to use their supplies to complete virtual clinicals.
PCT has brought on board several more health care facilities culminating a total of over 20 hospitals, clinics and physician offices which have entered into contracts with the school. Contracts are signed and awarded based upon the caliber of superior education which PCT provides. We are very proud of our relationships with the various hospitals, clinics, urgent care facilities and physician offices who have welcomed PCT students into externships. PCT medical assistant students can take advantage of PCT’s externship sites if they cannot find their own site by contacting their instructor.
The externship is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended for experience. There is also a possible opportunity that the student will be hired directly after completing their externship with the facility where they trained. The externship for medical assistant is 204 hours total. Students may choose the days they are able to work during their interview with the medical assistant office manager during their initial interview. Each student will be given unlimited online access to PCT’s comprehensive web-based educational tutorials, which include video taped lectures from classroom, interactive practice tests, exams, Power Point presentations and much more. All books are included in the Mega 12 Free! Students can expect to receive books on EKG/Telemetry, Medication, ICD 10 Medical Billing and Coding, Kinn’s 9th or 10th Medical Assistant edition along with 2 workbooks. The cost of books alone are at least $300, and the student receives them at no charge.
Upon completion, students can use PCT’s robust job board tailored for students at our school only. Here students may download complimentary resume tailored exclusively to the students needs and strengths. While other schools use medical assistants to teach other medical assistants, PCT puts MSN,BSN nurses, and Medical School students in the classroom to instruct students in more complex patient care assessment and increase their understanding of diagnostic reasoning. This is one of the main reasons that our students are hired in many cases prior to even entering into their externship. Students who wish to take this program do not need any prior experience. They can be assured that everything which they need to know will be provided through online lectures, demonstration and hands on practice with the clinical supplies provided to the students.
Students will be given all study materials to them prepare for the national exams.of which there are 4national exams included in the 14 certification program. This course is accredited by the NHA, NCCT and the AMCA.
Students may complete most of their national exams from the comfort of their own home using proctor software. Should students need assistant with their clinical rotation, PCT now has all students register with Castle Branch, where they can upload all their documents.
Online students are given unlimited access to our schools web-based educational learning portal at no charge along with all books. They must also purchase Scrubs, lab coat, box on non latex.gloves and a white knee length lab coat.
