This course includes certification for Medical Assistant only. We understand that many students are only interested in achieving their goal as a Medical Assistant. We are here to help you reach that goal. The Medical Assistant program meets twice per week for 7 weeks. Students can choose to attend morning classes from 8:30 until 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm until 5:30 pm or evening classes from 5 – 9pm. Books are included as well as online access to our vast student modules.

Want to get started in the medical field? Medical Assistants can work in multiple health care settings such as physician offices, urgent cares clinics, hospitals and in schools. If you are looking to add another certification or just looking to become a medical assistant, our program will help you reach your goals. We also have a wonderful job board that is accessible to students even after they graduate. Come down and join our program.

This course includes certification for Medical Assistant only. We understand that many students are only interested in achieving their goal as a medical assistant. We are here to help you reach that goal. The medical assistant program meets twice per week for 7 weeks. After the 7 weeks, students will them come to the school to preform their blood draws twice per week.

Students can choose to attend morning classes from 8:30 until 12:30 pm, afternoon 1:00pm -5:00pm or evening classes from 5-9pm. Books are included as well as online access to our vast student modules. Tuition must be paid in full prior to class. Student may take advantage of externships through Concentra, Beaumont or many other urgent cares throughout Michigan.  Currently Phlebotomy Career Training’s has affiliations across the state of Michigan and the US.

How to take vital signs; Blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, pulse oxygenation
Medical terminology
Positioning of patients for procedures
clinical charting
Electronic Health Records
Preform injections; vaccinations, adults, children, infants
Intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal
Medication Calculations
Ampule medication
Reconstitution of powdered medication and calculation
Rooming a patient
Assisting Physician in minor office surgical procedures
charting in a patient’s record
Height and weight
Body mass index
How to use body mass index charts for infants and children
Point of care testing; pregnancy tests, rapid strep, rapid mono, glucose
Urine drug screen
How to perform an EKG/ECG
How to read an EKG/ECG
Preparation for National Accredited Exam
Students will learn how to draw blood from patients
HIPAA Regulations
Infection control with cycle of infection
Medical office emergencies

Students will be taught by a Registered Certified Medical Assistant and Family Nurse Practitioner.
