Remember that big blue building on Michigan Avenue? The one I told you was about to become something more?

Well. Here we are.

PCT Institute of Healthcare is officially here. Same address. Same team. Same seventeen years of experience turning nervous students into confident, certified healthcare professionals. But a whole new identity built for where healthcare education is headed, not where it’s been.

Let me tell you what changed and what didn’t.

What Stayed the Same

The foundation. The 10,000 square feet of hands-on labs, exam rooms, and classrooms where thousands of students have learned to draw blood, take vitals, code procedures, and step into healthcare careers with actual skills, not just theory. The instructors who’ve been in the field, who know what it feels like to work a twelve-hour shift in a hospital lab or handle a difficult patient at a blood drive. The commitment to training that’s rigorous, practical, and designed to get you hired.

That’s not going anywhere.

What’s Different

Everything else.

We rebuilt our curriculum from scratch. Every course. Every module. Every assessment. We worked with educators across the country and national certifying organizations to create training programs that don’t just prepare you to pass a test. They prepare you to walk into a clinic, a hospital, a pharmacy, a medical office on day one and know exactly what you’re doing.  We moved to Moodle, the same learning management system used by major universities worldwide. That means when you log in to study, you’re using a platform built for serious education, not cobbled together from generic templates. Your coursework is organized, accessible, and designed to help you actually learn, not just click through slides.

We expanded beyond phlebotomy. Don’t get me wrong, phlebotomy is still our bread and butter, and we’re damn good at it. But we’re also offering Medical Assistant certification, Medical Billing and Coding, Pharmacy Technician training, IV Therapy certification, and more. Because healthcare careers don’t fit in one box, and neither should your options.  And we gave ourselves a name that reflects all of that. PCT Institute of Healthcare. Not just phlebotomy. Not just one corner of the field. The whole thing.

Why Now?

Because healthcare is changing fast. The jobs are there. The demand is real. But the training? A lot of it is stuck in 2005, using outdated methods, outdated platforms, and outdated thinking about what students actually need to succeed.

We looked at that gap and decided to do something about it.

So we spent the better part of a year rebuilding everything. And I mean everything. The branding, the curriculum, the platform, the student experience. We asked ourselves hard questions. We threw out what wasn’t working. We kept what was. And we built something I’m genuinely proud to put my name on.
