Clinical Medical Assistant — Rapid Pass Experienced Pathway
You’ve done the work. Now earn recognition for your experience.
Why spend thousands of dollars and precious time starting from scratch when you can build on the clinical experience you already have?
PCT Institute of Healthcare’s Rapid Pass Experienced Pathway is designed for medical assistants who have completed at least 204 hours of clinical medical assistant experience within the past year.
Put your experience to work toward your PCT Clinical Medical Assistant certificate for $500 instead of the regular $710 course price.
With focused study and successful completion of the course requirements, you have the opportunity to earn your school-issued certificate in less time than a typical college semester. Take the next step toward your professional goals with a certificate that reflects your experience and the knowledge you demonstrate.
Who qualifies?
This pathway is for individuals currently working as clinical medical assistants—or those who have worked in that role within the past year—with at least 204 qualifying clinical hours.
Students should plan to submit either:
- A comprehensive, notarized résumé documenting their qualifying clinical experience; or
- An employer letter on company letterhead confirming their clinical medical assistant duties and at least 204 qualifying hours within the past year.
School administration will verify employer letters with the person who signs them.
Learn online through Moodle
Your coursework is completed through Moodle, PCT’s learning management system. Upon registration, your instructor will provide your login credentials so you can access your course.
There is no scheduled start date or cohort waiting period. Begin as soon as you receive your login credentials.
What’s included for $500?
- Three months of course access: Complete your online modules on your schedule within the three-month access period. This pathway includes three months rather than the regular course’s six months.
- Unlimited quiz attempts: Review and retake quizzes as often as needed during your access period to strengthen your understanding.
- Two final exam attempts: The final combines material from the quizzes you have already completed, making your quiz reviews a valuable study resource.
- Instructor support: Meet with instructors through Google Meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2–4 p.m. Schedule an appointment using the Google Calendar link in your instructor’s welcome email.
- Your PCT Clinical Medical Assistant certificate: Successfully complete the required modules and pass the final exam to earn your school-issued certificate, featuring PCT’s Seal of Excellence. Your PCT certificate does not expire.
Once you have met the completion requirements, request your certificate by emailing [email protected].
National certification: an optional, separate next step
The $500 pathway does not include a complimentary national exam attempt. Students who choose to pursue national certification are responsible for their exam fees.
Plan to take your chosen national exam within one year of graduation. Potential certifying organizations include NHA, NCCT, and AMCA, subject to their individual eligibility and testing requirements.
Your PCT school-issued certificate is separate from national certification, and course completion does not automatically guarantee eligibility for every national exam.
