Certified Nursing Assistant course meets entirely in class. We have a state approved nurse assistant program going strong for over 10 years. Our current Certified nursing assistant program is a 75 hour program. Student will perform a clinical rotation through one or several long term care facilities in the greater Metro Detroit surrounding area. Students are required to have a negative TB skin test prior to registering for the class, pass a criminal background check (students should be able to work in longterm care). This course includes two free certifications, Home Health Aide and Medication Aide (each of these are online classes and can be completed at the students own pace)
Students are required to have the following prior to class:
1. Burgundy scrubs
2. white shoes, tennis, nursing, clogs
3. negative TB test
4. Background check

Students are required to pass a urine drug screen test performed onsite at the school by the 3rd week. This cost is $35.00 and must be done at the school per our contract with the extended care facility.
Student can be sure to get not only excellent training, but participate in small class sizes. Students will learn the following skills as a certified nursing assistant;
Course Description: The learner is introduced to basic nursing care, resident rights, safety and emergency nursing procedures. Principles of therapeutic relationships and client care are presented as well as the legal/ethical issues related to nursing assistant practice. Students demonstrate competencies required to assist in giving basic nursing care to patients in long-term care agencies under the supervision of the instructor or licensed nursing staff. Class Breakdown is: AIDS education/ 51 hours of class including lab, with 24 hours of clinical time at a State Approved facility.

Course Requirements:
1. A grade of “C” (2.5) or better is required to pass the written tests or75%.
2. Clinicals need to be passed with 100% in order to pass the course. This means 100% attendance as well as proficient demonstration of C.N.A. skills.

Methods Of Evaluation: Weekly quizzes Final written and skills exam Passing grade for clinical Grading Scale:
Passing A = 90-100% , 80-89% B, 75- 79% C, Below 75%is failing.
Clinicals must be passed with 100% to graduate as well as a 75% pass rate on the written portion of the class room.
