Cardio-phlebotomy technician certification is a tiered program that allows students to graduate with multiple certifications through one program. This expansive program prepares students for nine distinct certifications. The most popular of these nine certifications are:

• Phlebotomy Technician: These professionals can draw blood, collect other lab specimens, label and package specimens, and do preliminary lab testing on them.
• EKG Technician: An EKG tech can perform and analyze EKG tests on the cardiovascular system.
• Telemetry Technician: These professionals are trained to read EKG strips and cardiac rhythm tests to analyze the function of the heart.
• IV Technician: An IV tech is trained to insert IVs in a safe, comfortable manner.

After finishing the four National Certification Exams for each of these, the student can receive a Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician exam as well.

This unique program was first created by Phlebotomy Career Training. Since 2009, we have been graduating students with this unique skill set, preparing them for work in both cardiology and phlebotomy through one packaged training program.

This program is available through both online learning modules and in-person, hands-on instruction. It can be completed in as little as 12 weeks, but the self-paced design allows the students to take as long as they need, up to six months, to complete their training. This flexibility allows students to work at their own pace and according to their own schedules.
