The Dearborn Downtown Development Authorities (East and West DDAs) are dedicated to nurturing a vibrant, economically viable, and culturally rich downtown experience. Through community events, business support, and beautification efforts, the DDAs strive to make Dearborn a premier destination to live, work, and play.
Walk through a Dearborn community event lately, and there is a good chance you ran into us. Phlebotomy Career Training is proud to be an active, visible, and growing part of the community we call home, and we are just getting started.
Official Partners of the Downtown Dearborn Summer Market
We are honored to serve as an official partner of the Downtown Dearborn Summer Market, standing alongside the West Dearborn Downtown Development Authority and other valued community partners. The market takes place at Peace Park West from 4 PM to 8 PM, and we will be there for the upcoming dates on July 17 and August 14. Mark your calendars, because we would love to see you.
Being part of the official market lineup means we are not a school that hides behind its walls; we are a neighbor, a resource, and a partner in keeping our community healthy and informed.
Our Hydration Station Was a Hit
At our most recent market appearance, we hosted our PCT Hydration Station, and it was a wonderful reminder of why we do this work. Our banner said it all: Hydrated! Free Water! Staying hydrated sounds simple, but it is one of the most overlooked pieces of everyday health, especially during warm Michigan days and busy outdoor events. Our students and staff handed out free water, shared friendly health tips, and connected with the public face to face.
Events like these let us do two things we love at once: keep the public informed about their own health, and give our community a chance to learn about the training and programs we offer.
Showing Up Where the Community Gathers
The Summer Market is just one piece of how PCT stays involved. From high school job fairs to public events across the city, we show up where the community gathers. At high school job fairs, our team meets the next generation of healthcare professionals before they have even picked a path. We talk with students about what a career in patient care really looks like, answer their questions, and show them that a rewarding future in medicine is closer and more reachable than they might think.
Coming Soon: Health Screenings at Events
We are excited to share that PCT will soon be offering health screenings at community events. This is a natural next step for us, and it reflects our mission of putting practical, accessible health resources directly into the hands of the people who need them. Keep an eye on our event schedule, because you will be seeing a lot more of us in the months ahead.
A Little Fun for Our Future Medical Providers
Here is the part that makes us smile. At our events, we set up a special area just for kids, where little ones can pose for photos as future medical providers. There are crayons, there is laughter, and there are plenty of proud parents snapping pictures of their own future nurses, phlebotomists, and doctors in the making.
It is cute, it is fun, and it carries a real message: healthcare is for everyone, and it is never too early to dream about helping people. Best of all, our students get to be right there in the middle of it, leading the activities and connecting with families. Community outreach is not a side project for PCT students; it is part of who we are becoming together.
Be Part of It
