Covid 19 has shifted the globe and its dynamics. And one of the sectors it has had the most powerful impact on is the healthcare industry. With the diseases and importance of health and fitness increasing, the healthcare sector continues to experience sharp growth. As new and more job opportunities start to develop, the rise in the fame of phlebotomy is noteworthy.

Phlebotomy is a vital career option for people who prefer a steady job and become key workplace personnel. As a phlebotomy technician, you can work in Nebraska for the nursing, physician assisting, medical assisting departments, EKG technicians, and medical lab techs.

Certification Requirement For Phlebotomists In Nebraska

While you don’t need to be certified to work as a phlebotomist in the state of Nebraska, having one on your resume can open doors for you. If you decide to pursue your career as a phlebotomist in other states, you must have credible certifications from one of the well-renowned phlebotomy institutions.

If you’re proceeding with specialization in phlebotomy, your education and certification can take around four to eighteen months. The training program makes you eligible to appear for the National Exam. And upon passing that, you can work as a phlebotomist in Nebraska and other states of the United States.

Scope For Phlebotomists

You can either enroll in training programs for phlebotomy technicians or pursue EKG and Cardio-phlebotomy to specialize in monitor reading and drawing blood simultaneously. That broadens your expertise and enables you to offer patients professional and more effective healthcare.

As for the fundamental skills, you must be people-friendly and compassionate to address and alleviate your patient’s fears. In addition, you must also ensure their safety and comfort throughout the blood drawing and specimen processes.

National Certifications As A Phlebotomist

If you’re wondering about managing your work, studies, and personal life more effectively, you can opt for online phlebotomy training. Phlebotomy Career Training offers in-person and online phlebotomy certification for all aspiring phlebotomists.

You can either register for the Phlebotomy Technician Certification or the Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician program. Both certifications don’t require prior medical experience in the field. However, you must have a high school diploma or GED and a clear state background check for the enrolment.

You will have six months to complete the courses and appear for the National Exam. You will also have unrestricted and unlimited access to the study guides and practice exams during this time frame. Moreover, you’ll be required to complete 30 blood draws to receive your certification.

The Phlebotomy Technician program covers fundamental knowledge of vacuum collection devices, laboratory basics in phlebotomy processes, patient care, and pain assessment, handling pediatric patients, special tests, and body system testing.

The Cardio-Phlebotomy program includes seven certifications, including certified national phlebotomy technician, EK technician, IV technician, telemetry technician, and electrocardiogram technician. Apart from the required 30 blood draws, you must also complete ten live EKGs before sitting for the National Exam.

Upon clearing your exam, you can receive your official certification and CEU’s to proceed with your official jobs as phlebotomists across the state.
