In-Person Medical Assistant Course

Medical assistants play a vital role in patient care and diagnosis. Their specialized skill set is in high demand in doctor’s offices, hospitals, outpatient centers, and many other medical facilities. If you are interested in getting into healthcare without spending years in school, the medical assistant course may be the perfect fit for you.

During the 100% in-person course curriculum, students will learn many important skills necessary to work as medical assistants, such as taking vital signs, assisting with minor surgeries, and performing injections and electrocardiograms. They will also become knowledgeable about inpatient management, administrative tasks, HIPAA and OSHA regulations, as well as effective bedside manner and professional conduct.

Upon course completion, students will need to pass the certification exam to receive their Medical Assistant Certification. Our in-person classes offer national accrediting exams which allow students to work anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

Internship Requirements

Did you know that Phlebotomy Career Training has affiliation agreements with St. Joseph and Beaumont just to name a few?  Students can take advantage of internships through any of our Michigan-based affiliate hospitals and labs.  There is a process that students must go through.  The student must attend a clinical assessment interview first after the student submits a formal letter as to why they would like to do an internship.  Next, there is a list of health and insurance documents that the student must submit which both the school and the hospital need to begin the process.

Students are eligible to work upon completion of their class.  If students wish to go on to do an internship with one of our Michigan-affiliated sites, they will have to carry at least an 80% or higher in all their quizzes and test.
