A virtual alternative is available for ECG Technicians who are unable to find an internship in their area.

Telemetry Technicians in the ECG Technician Tier 2 program are not required to complete a clinical externship. Students can focus on studying and completing their course online.

Each skill requirement must be supervised and signed off on a clinical competency form that will be provided to the student. Students are responsible for finding internships at their location. Urgent care centers, doctor’s offices, hospitals, and other clinics are popular internship locations. We recommend students begin their internship by the end of their second module for each course.

Students can submit a letter from their employer on company letterhead or a notarized resume as proof of experience in the last 16 months to waive their clinical requirement.
