Phlebotomy Career Training’s new online course offering for our online students include both the Clinical Medical Assistant Certification and Phlebotomy Technician certifications. This is a 4 certification program on sale until the end of August.
Certificates from the school include Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician. Each certificate is affixed with the schools seal and does not expire. Transcripts are also included which designate the students hours completed and grades.
The national exams which are included with the course include the national clinical medical assistant exam. This exam can be taken through the AMCA, NHA or the NCCT. The school pays for the exam.
The national phlebotomy exam is also included. The complimentary national exam is through the NAPTP. Students have one complimentary attempt at the national exams.
There is a six month time frame in which the courses must be completed. This includes completion of 1200 hours for medical assistant and 170 hours for phlebotomy. The medical assistant program requires 204 hours of clinicals. These 204 hours are part of the 1200 hour program. The phlebotomy requires 40 hours of clinicals which is part of the 170 hour program.
The student must complete a minimum of 30 blood draws during their externships. The students are responsible for locating their clinical externships. It is highly recommended that student seek out possible options for their clinical sites prior to registering. Phlebotomy Career Training does have affiliation agreements with hospitals and clinics throughout the United States, however the students externship cannot be guaranteed. Should the student seek to use Phlebotomy Career Training’s affiliate hospital sites they will be paired with the clinical coordinator. Phlebotomy Career Training now uses Castle Branch for students to upload their sensitive documents. Each student is responsible for the Castle Branch fees which is $35.
Students with prior experience in both medical assistant duties and phlebotomy may submit their experience via fax or email documenting their hours and skills. This will be reviewed by our admissions coordinator. The following is a breakdown of hours awarded for medical assistant clinical hours based upon the profession.
Nurse Aide: 40 hours waived
Paramedic: 140 -160 hours waived
EMT: 120 hours waived
Students may submit either proof of licensure or a notarized resume of their experience.

Phlebotomy Career Training is a licensed proprietary school in the state of Michigan since 2009, serving both the residents of Michigan and students throughout the United States and the world.
All students should have a high school diploma or a GED. Students must be able to pass a national background check and be up to date on all their immunizations.
